Lots of room, front and back. Love the heated steering wheel. Seats could heat up faster and on lower back. Drives nice.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the wiring for the front seats could be damaged when a person uses the tilt function. As a result, certain system in the vehicle may not work properly. Depending on which wires are damaged, the occupant classification system may not work properly. This can cause the passenger airbag to not work properly in a crash. The damage could also cause the driver or passenger front airbag to deploy suddenly without a crash. Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with 16-way power front seats. Safety Risk: An airbag that does not deploy properly in a crash could increase the risk of injuries. A sudden airbag deployment when there is no crash could also create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to install protective tape on the exposed edge of the cushion frames. The dealer will also inspect the wire harness and repair or replace it, as needed.

Issue: On certain vehicles built with a 3.7-L engine, the positive battery cable may rub against the transmission shifter cable bracket. This could cause a short circuit to occur. Safety Risk: An electrical short circuit could create a fire risk. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to install a wire channel shield and protective sleeve on the battery cable.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the bolts that attach the electric power steering assist motor to the steering gear may corrode and break. This could cause a loss of power steering assist. This recall applies to vehicles originally sold or currently registered in areas of heavy road salt usage (Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador). Safety Risk: A loss of power steering assist may result in a sudden increase in steering effort, especially at low vehicle speeds. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to replace the bolts and apply a wax sealer. If one or more of the bolts are broken or missing, a new steering gear will be installed.

Issue: On certain vehicles, long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, may eventually degrade the propellant contained in the passenger-front airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. If the airbag inflator ruptures, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants or cause damage to the airbag assembly, preventing its proper function. Safety Risk: If the vehicle is involved in a crash requiring an airbag deployment, the airbag inflator could rupture and create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to have the passenger-front airbag inflator replaced. Note: The Canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. This recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk. It is expected that all airbag inflators will be replaced before their function would be affected. Additional note: This recall supersedes recalls 2016-347 (Ford Safety Improvement Program 16S26), 2017-024 (Ford Recall 17S01) and 2018-035 (Ford Recall 18S01). Vehicles repaired under the previous recalls do not require repair under this recall.

Certain vehicles may not conform to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 206 - Door Lock and Door Retention Components. The bolts attaching the door striker to the vehicle body may be too short. This could result in the door opening in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will replace all door striker bolts.

Certain ACDelco Advantage wheel hub spindles, manufactured by Bearing Technologies Ltd., contain a defect which may affect vehicle safety. The spindles have studs with oversized protruding shoulders that may make assembling the part difficult with certain aftermarket brake rotors (original equipment rotors are not affected). If this difficulty in assembly is not heeded, the defect may cause a vibration of the vehicle or wobbling of the wheel on which the hub is installed. If a driver does not stop the vehicle, this may lead to a loss of vehicle control. Affected parts are ACDelco Advantage wheel hub spindles, Part No. 19360602 (BR930676K), sold between November 21, 2016 and October 2, 2017. Parts manufactured with these studs have any of the following LOT codes etched on the face of the spindle: FH38, FJ38, FN38, FP38, FS38, FV38, FY38, FZ38, and HC38. These parts fit exclusively on the models listed in this notice. Correction: Bearing Tech will provide customers with a replacement ACDelco Advantage wheel spindle, Part No. 19385577 (518517). Owners should contact Bearing Tech at 800-677-3477 or send an email to recall@brgtec.com Note: This campaign is not being conducted under the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

Certain vehicles may fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 208 - Occupant Protection in Frontal Impacts. Certain driver frontal airbag modules may have been assembled incorrectly. In the event of a crash warranting deployment of the driver's frontal airbag, the airbag may not completely fill, or the airbag cushion may detach from the airbag module, which would not protect the driver as expected, and could increase the risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the driver's frontal airbag.

On certain vehicles registered and operated in areas where road salt is used on the roadways during winter months for extended time periods (Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland-Labrador), corrosion may occur underneath the fuel tank mounting reinforcement brackets at the weld seam. This could result in a small hole to form in the fuel tank resulting in a fuel vapour leak or fuel leak. A malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) may illuminate, and/or fuel odour or liquid fuel may be observed. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will inspect, and if necessary, repair or replace the fuel tank. On certain vehicles, the right-side halfshaft retention clip may not have been fully engaged, and could allow the halfshaft to separate. If this were to occur while the vehicle is being driven, it could result in a loss of motive power. If this were to occur while the vehicle is parked on an incline without the parking brake applied, it could result in unintended vehicle movement. Both situations could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will inspect halfshafts for full retention and affect repairs as necessary.

On certain vehicles, the fuel tank may contain a manufacturing flaw - a dimple in the bottom, at a spot weld. This dimple could result in fuel weepage or a fuel drip from the tank.
