Mercedes-Benz R-Class 2006-2012Change

We bought one of these vehicles after my parents purchased one (dad is a mechanic) and absolutely loved it. We saved up and got one of our own. It is super comfortable for long distance trips and can hold a lot of gear for a family; without having to own a minivan.

in trunk for stuff (like hockey equipment).
Easy ride and looks sporty too.

This crossover 4-wheel-drive,will carry a total of 6 passenger, in safety, style, and comfort in all weather conditions.

Must see to truly appreciate this car. In excellent shape throughout, drives and handles beautifully. An honest, strong, well-cared vehicle!

Traded my 2006 R500 for a demo 2012 Bluetec about 18 months ago. This version has all the toys.
I chose the R350 BT over the ML350 based on my experience of the R500 - 3 rows of seats, cargo capacity and the benefits if Mercs superb diesel power plant.
The R350 is car like, and drives much better than the ML, which I found to have a choppy ride on rough roads. Made the round trip from Ontario to SW Florida about 3 times now, and can't wait for the next trip inn early 2015.
The R350 BT returns 30+ mpg on the long runs, and a bit less on local roads. The only down side is that the diesel fuel is smelly, and you quickly learn to use gloves when filling up.

This has been an outstanding family car, tons of room and a beautiful riding car. This car was driven daily by my wife and it is in pristine condition. With the kids off to university, we no longer need a big car.

The R350 has 220000 kms. If these vehicles are maintained and get problems fixed ASAP they will last. The R500 is hopped up dealer spec McLaren, prelude to the R63. Very Fast. Now has 95000 kms, purchased it with 40000kms. There are no negatives to these vehicles, however, unlike Lexus, Infinity, and Acura's there will always be a small concern somewhere. The suspension rear air bags are time sensitive and will need to be changed @ 140000 kms or 7 years. Parts are reasonable, and any good tech it is easy like Honda. Buy original parts from Mercedes. Airbags purchase @ Arnott Suspension. The traction control is superior to all in it's class, including BMW. Truly a remarkable vehicle... sad to see it discontinued after 2015. No other vehicle offers safe speed limit under the worst conditions. ( including other Mercedes models. The R500 is heavy on gas consumption, however if it has decent spark plugs, K&N Filters, and a MAF Chip, it becomes quite good and very powerful. As a professional driver (driven all late model vehicles) I find any vehicle to match its all around capabilities. Just to note.. The original engineering teams goal was.. What would Mr. Carl Benz drive today? It is one of the most under rated Mercedes of all time. Great value in the used market!

Cargo space is better than ML or Gl or E wagon.Diesel performance is better than gas.Imagine comfort of a LWB S Class,but with wagon versatility.Surprising tight turning radius for long wheelbase. Only way to improve would be for reversing camera to illuminate when shifting to reverse even when radio is off.Why not have reversing camera lens washer,given winter dirt on tailgate? Careful driving results in over 1,000 kms per tank. My experience is with 2010 model year. Too bad they are no longer sold in North America due to low sales volume.RG,March 2014.I would buy again.

The best. Makes me just want another newer model. The seat memory heated front and rear seats and automatic folding mirrors are a definite plus. Rear climate control and state of the art stereo make this a luxury ride you would expect from Mercedes Benz

This is an excellent family car. It offers sure footed stability thanks to the 4Matic system, gets wonderful millage and offers plenty of space.

I fell in love as soon as I drove this car. I had comfortable cars in the past, however this one was something completely different. Later on, when I drove a "S 500", I knew why. The car is so comfortable that we drove from Toronto to Halifax in 2 days and we did not even feel it. We needed only 2 tanks of diesel!

The safety of the car is second to none. In heavy snow, if there was one spot that one wheel could touch, the car moved. I can not remember any time that I was hesitant to drive because of heavy ice or snow.

with the extra-warranty for another year on almost everything and another 2 years for engine and transmission, you would have peace of mind on the purchase of a pre-owned car.

Excellent vehicle. Drives like an S class, basically long wheelbase is comparable to the Sclass. Excellent gas mileage and torque. Good solid built crossover with one of a kind futuristic all-purpose design.

This is the most luxurious and high end car we have ever owned. Great for long trips, very solid performance and ultimate safety.
Diesel is usually 10cents cheaper than gas and fuel economy is far superior than any SUV, especially with all time 4 wheel drive and weighing over 5000 pounds.

Took my family safely and comfortably to Florida several times; In Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash testing, the R-Class achieved the highest rating of Good for frontal-offset and side crash protection

We bought a pre-owned Mercedes Benz R350 and we love it! Although it cannot obviously have the cargo space that our old minivan had, it's a nice transition for us to get into a cross-over.

The legroom is great, even in the 2nd row of seats and although I would love a little more in the trunk area - the space it reasonable.

It's a great car for travelling and we have had no issues with the car since owning it. We are glad to have picked a reliable brand like Mercedes and hope to keep this car for a very long time!

Bought the car used nearly 3 years ago from an independent dealer - 3rd party warranty.
Standard maintenance and a few repairs covered by the warranty. I use an independent mechanic who knows MBs, not expensive.
Big car, excellent to drive, lots of power, very comfortable. Recently traveled from Ontario to Fort Myers and back fully loaded in armchair comfort for driver and passengers.

Great car .. great milage.. very comfortable. Rides like a limo for passengers. Great car for driver or passengers. Diesel and 4 Matic make this a very good car for Canada

good condition local bought from mercedes benz in vancouver and non-smoking vehicle. large panarama sun-roof , very easy to drive , rear video is great for parking. Runs excellant and its garage kept and great factory dvd entertainment unit with dual screen to keep the passenger happy.

We got this car used with quite some mileage but it still runs great. It comes with some great features such as a panoramic view. the 2006 Mercedes-Benz R-Class is a sports tourer. It's a new kind of vehicle that changes everything. It combines the best features of a car, a minivan and a sport-utility vehicle, which has never been done before. We began our 10 days with the R500 by driving it 332 miles from Carmel, California, down to our Santa Monica office, a road trip that perfectly displayed its ability to eat interstate.

The trip was executed in supreme comfort. The cabin is quiet, its steeply raked windshield provides awesome visibility and the front seats are shaped to perfection. We also averaged 18.5 mpg, and made the trip on one tank of premium.

As much as we like the optional Airmatic suspension, the differences between its three settings are slim. About 100 miles south of Carmel, we decided the normal or middle setting was perfect, and we never really messed with it again.
