2015 Jeep Wrangler

Trim: Sport
by puja on 12-21-2016
they finally nailed it..
Owned a YJ decades ago.. it was cramped, bouncy, noisy & really LOUD on the hwy!
Sold it.. No more Jeeps for me.

A year ago we got curious enough to test drive a 2015 3.6 Pentastar.
What a huge driving difference.. it's much larger and talk about good hwy manners.

We actually wanted the HT but bought the soft.. and glad we did. Love the more Jeep like look and the impromptu convertibility it offers, especially the huge folding sunroof you can quickly flip back, and no panels to store. The heater is 2nd to none.
Ditched the lousy stock Goodyear tires and bought Cooper A/T3s.. they stick like glue to wet and dry pavement and the ride is super quiet at hwy speeds yet impressively aggressive for off-road exploring. Totally awesome. We drove all the way from the Oregon Coast to Vancouver BC with the top open. It was a blast.

Forget about getting in the back seat though unless you're a contortionist. Not needing it we yanked the seat and now make good use of the ample 55 cf of storage.
Had it for over a year now.. apart from the top leaking a bit, we love it!
one more thing.. the tactile JK experience quickly brings closure to a midlife crisis.

1992 Jeep Wrangler

Trim: yj

YJ.. swore it was the last wrangler I'd ever buy.
The square headlighted YJ 4HO was crude, loud to the point of deafening on the highway and electrically problematic. A dash light had melted right through the plastic. Had both tops but sold it within 6 months. NEVER AGAIN!

and then in 2015 I took a look at my neighbours new JK. He loved it. I thought I'd test drive one just to be open minded.
I was so impressed with the ride, power and feel that I bought a new manual Sport. It's much larger, much more comfortable and has great fit and finish compared to the YJ.. and 55cf of storage space.
Jeep did their homework with the JK.. I gave them an A+.

2006 Honda Element

Trim: AWD EX

2006 AWD EX 5MT
The E.. is a totally practical fun car for people who like the unique.
Only complaints.. the seats could be a more robust material but are overall quite comfortable. Buy seat covers.
Be nice if the front door would stay open when opened like the back doors do.
The 5 MT is quite peppy but could use a 6th gear for lower hwy revs, better economy.
It's a little road noisy but.. not a deal killer since the good points far outweigh the bad and besides, I was raised on pinko VWs so I'm not into entitlement.

As to only 4 seats.. it was designed for 4, it's not a fault. I've also got a wrangler and it only seats 4. No one complains about that.
Quit yer whining people! It's a reliable, economical fun to drive 'do everything' car.
If looks is that important and you need more seating, buy an Escalade!

re previous poster comments..
au contraire.. DO NOT hose it out! Brush or wipe it out..
and the AWD is NOT a full time AWD. It runs as a FWD until slippage is detected.. only then is it AWD.
Mileage? Mine gets upwards of 30mpg on the hwy, but then I'm not a lead foot.. I'll cruise at 60mph and enjoy the great sound system.
Like my JK wrangler, the E puts a smile on my face.
