1997 Toyota Camry

reliable ride
this car has been a reliable ride for both me and my mom. Started with a 84 camry then a 97 camry and then she got a 2014 camry but unfortunatly wrote it off when she has a stroke last year and now this has to be the car I drive miss daisy around the city in.

1997 Toyota Camry

Last long
My first car back in 1997, had it for 20 years very reliable, still running. It is very comfortable inside with lots of room.

From the exterior, the Camry looks largely reserved with brief flashes of bold styling. Most notably, its "mechanical catfish" grille returns from last year and could be the car's most polarizing statement. It's unusually bold for Toyota and something that may not turn off many buyers from considering a Camry, but almost certainly won't turn many on. Around the sides and rear, the Camry is handsome without overstating or relying on modern language like a floating roof or a too-high window line.

Great Car
Reliable and long lasting up to 400000 kms.Good production values by toyota during the 1990s made this the best decade for the company. The car drives like new and they rarely rust out,If you look you see how many are still on the road with over 300000kms.

a bit noise on shock
reliable and fuel economic are two keys you should like this car we have for 12 years. fuse is hard to replace and hard to find which is to control which. Shocks are noisy for this kind of car all the time.

Nice, reliable ride
Toyota delivers a smooth, comfortable, and reliable ride in the Camry. Overall very reliable and easy to drive. The 2.2 L lacks a bit of pick-up, so I would prefer the V6, but that's offset by better fuel economy and lower maintenance costs.

Like no other
This has been our main family car for more than 10 years. It has served its purpose very well and done what we wanted it to do. This car has gotten us through the seasons, storms, and snow. It has pulled through on long-road trips and to this very day continues to be as reliable as ever. That is why we love this car.

Reliable old beast.
Having driven both a 98 and a 97 over the past 4 years I can say they're all extremely reliable cars. All I've had to fix were the contacts on the ignition, which were the factory ones, finally worn out after 15 some odd years of keys turning it over.
Fuel economy is excellent, Toronto to Montreal on a single tank of gas. But I've never felt like the car was slow or sluggish. Maybe a little underpowered, especially on at higher speeds, but it's a 4 banger, what else can you expect?
My only gripe with toyota's small cars in general is that, being designed in Japan, they're a little cramped for someone over 6 feet. After a long drive my back is aching, the seats feel like bricks, and my legs are cramped and bent into unnatural positions.
All in all though, 300,000 km and still running beautifully.

15 years, still trucking !!
I leased my Camry 15 years ago, them bought out the lease. I can't say enough about this car. Nothing major has gone south. The expenses have all been normal stuff for a vehicle with nearly 200,000 km on the clock. The teansmission is still tight, the vehicle handles well, the V6 still jumps (for a four door family saloon) if you switch off the o/d. The only rust (not bad, just in 2 patches) is in a rear side pannel where some jerk side-swipped me about 10 years ago, the rest of the bodywork is clean.
When I first got the car I was told by some guy that I would be bored of the car before it quits on me. He was right. There are days when I want to jump into a new something or other. My Camry just won't give me a reason to replace it.
